What is spatial?

Spatial means how things are arranged or placed in space, like on a table, in a room, or even in your toy box.

Imagine you have a big toy box full of blocks. If you just throw them all in randomly, it's hard to find what you want. But if you organize them, putting red blocks on one side and blue ones on the other, it’s easier to find what you need. That’s using spatial skills!

Like a Map

Think of a map, like the one your mom uses when you go on a road trip. The map shows how cities are placed in relation to each other. If you know where the park is, and you know it's next to the school, you can find your way, that’s using spatial thinking!

Like Building with Blocks

When you build a tower with blocks, you're deciding which block goes on top of another. You’re figuring out how they fit together in space, that's also spatial thinking.

So, spatial is about how things are arranged or placed, like your toys, your map, or even your block tower!Spatial means how things are arranged or placed in space, like on a table, in a room, or even in your toy box.
