What is sleepy?

Sleepy is when your body and brain are getting ready to rest, just like a toy car gets ready to park after a long ride.

What makes you sleepy?

When you play all day or run around like a puppy, your body feels tired. It’s like when you finish climbing the tallest stairs in the house, you want to sit down and catch your breath. At the same time, your brain is also getting ready for rest. It sends out little signals, kind of like a school bell that says, “Time for nap!”

Why it feels so good

When you finally lie down or sit back in your favorite chair, those tired feelings turn into something cozy and calm, just like when you wrap yourself up in a warm blanket after a long day. That’s why going to bed or taking a nap feels so wonderful. Your body is saying, “I’ve had enough for now!”
