Size is how big or small something is compared to other things around it.
Imagine you have a toy car and a real car. The real car is much bigger, that means it has a larger size. If you put the toy car next to the real one, you can easily see the difference. Size helps us know which thing takes up more space or fits in our hand.
What Size Can Do
When we talk about size, we’re not just looking at how tall something is, we also think about how long and how wide it is. A big box might be long, wide, and tall, while a small pebble is short, narrow, and low.
You can measure size with your hands or feet too! If you stretch out your arms, that’s the same as measuring from one side to the other, just like how we measure things in real life.
Examples
- A child trying to fit into a too-small pair of jeans
- A building that's just the right height for its windows
- An apple that fits perfectly in your hand
