Six Thinking Hats is a way to think about problems from six different angles, like wearing six different colored hats, each one helping you see something new.
Imagine you're trying to decide whether to bring your favorite toy to school or leave it at home. Each hat helps you make that choice in its own special way:
The White Hat
This is the fact hat. It looks at what's real and true, like how many kids have toys, or if your toy will fit in your backpack.
The Red Hat
This is the feeling hat. It listens to what you feel about your toy, are you excited? Nervous? Happy?
The Black Hat
This is the caution hat. It says things like, "What if someone breaks your toy?" or "What if it’s too big?"
The Yellow Hat
This is the hope hat. It sees the good parts, maybe your toy will make you the most popular kid at recess!
You can use all six hats to think more clearly and have fun while doing it!
