The Six-Day War was a short but big fight between some countries near each other.
Imagine you and your friend both want to play on the same swing set at recess. One day, your friend grabs all the swings and says, "You can't play here anymore!" That’s like what happened, one group of countries took over territory that belonged to another group.
Why It Happened
There were two main groups: one was Israel, and the other was a team of nearby countries. These countries had been arguing for a long time about land, kind of like how you might argue with your sibling about who gets the bigger piece of cake.
Just before the Six-Day War, Israel got a message saying that the other group was going to attack soon. So, Israel decided to go on the offensive, they wanted to take back some land that had been taken from them before.
How It Went
Israel started fighting very quickly and won in just six days! They took over parts of Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon, like grabbing extra swings at recess because your friend wasn’t ready for the fight. This war changed how those countries saw each other, kind of like how you might remember who started the argument next time you play together.
