Side-to-side is when something moves back and forth like a swing on a playground.
Imagine you're sitting on a swing. You push your legs out to go forward, then bring them back in to come toward you again. That’s moving side-to-side, not up and down, but from one side to the other and back again.
Like a See-Saw
Think of a see-saw at the park. When one kid goes up, the other goes down. But if they both move in the same way, one going up while the other also goes up, that's not side-to-side. Side-to-side is more like when the kids are moving in opposite directions, back and forth.
Like a Dog on a Leash
Or think of your dog running around you in circles. If it runs to the left and then comes back to the right, that’s also side-to-side motion, just like the swing or the see-saw!
So side-to-side is all about moving from one side to the other, not up or down or forward or backward, but back and forth in a line. It's simple, fun, and something you can feel every time you play on a swing!
