The Short Message Service Center (SMSC) is like a post office for text messages.
Imagine you're sending a letter to your friend at school. You write it down and put it in an envelope, then hand it to the mailman. The SMSC does something similar, but for texts on your phone. It receives the message from your phone, checks where it needs to go, and sends it to your friend's phone.
How the SMSC Works
When you press "send" on a text message, the message goes to the SMSC, which acts like a message manager. The SMSC makes sure the message is delivered correctly, even if your friend’s phone is off or not near a network. It keeps track of where each message needs to go and sends it when the receiver is ready.
Think of the SMSC as the traffic cop for messages, making sure every text gets to its destination safely and on time.
