What is shake?

Shake is when something moves back and forth quickly, like how your favorite toy feels when you shake it to make it go ping or ding.

Imagine you're holding a bag of marbles. When you move the bag up and down fast, the marbles inside start to bounce around, that’s shake in action! It's just like when you shake a bottle of soda, and the bubbles all rush to the top.

What makes things shake?

Sometimes, things shake because something else is moving nearby. Like when your friend jumps on a trampoline right next to you, boing! You might feel it in your feet or even in your seat!

Other times, things shake because they're trying to move but can't all at once. It's like when you and your sibling both want the same toy, you push and pull, and the toy shakes from side to side.

Shake isn’t magic, it’s just movement that happens fast and back and forth!
