What is sauna?

A sauna is like a hot room that helps you feel super relaxed and refreshed.

Imagine you're wearing a heavy backpack all day, your body feels tired and hot. Now picture taking off the backpack and jumping into a warm bath. That’s what a sauna feels like, but instead of water, it's just really hot air.

In a sauna, you sit or lie down in a small room that is very warm, almost like being outside on a sunny summer day, but even hotter! The heat helps your body sweat, which makes you feel lighter and more relaxed, just like when you take off that heavy backpack.

How it works

A sauna usually has a heater that warms up the air. Some saunas also have a special kind of wood that gets super hot and gives off extra warmth. You can sit in there for a few minutes, or even longer if you want! The heat makes your body feel good, like when you're cozy under a blanket on a cold night.

After you get out, you often jump into a cool place, like a pool or just the regular room, to help your body relax even more. It's like going from being in a warm bath to being outside in the fresh air!
