What is retrieve?

"Retrieve means to get something back that you had before."

Imagine you have a favorite toy, like a teddy bear, and you put it in a box under your bed. When you want to play with it again, you retrieve it, you take it out of the box and bring it into your room.

Like Looking for Something Lost

If you lose your socks and then find them under the couch, that’s like retrieving them. You had them before, but they were hidden or missing, and now you get them back.

It's Like a Little Treasure Hunt

Think of it as going on a small adventure to bring something back to where it belongs, just like when you go to the kitchen to get your juice from the fridge. You retrieve the juice by taking it out of the fridge.

So, whether it’s a toy, a sock, or a drink, retrieve is all about getting something back that was once yours.
