What is Resolution (or entrenchment)?

Resolution, or entrenchment, is when something becomes so clear and so important that it can't be changed easily anymore.

Imagine you're building a tower with blocks. At first, the tower is wobbly, and anyone can knock it down. But as you add more blocks on top, it gets taller and stronger. Eventually, it’s so tall that even a big push won’t bring it down, that's resolution.

Like a Favorite Snack

Think of your favorite snack. At first, you might try other snacks, but once you find the perfect one, you don’t want to switch. You keep eating it every day, and now it feels like part of your routine. That’s entrenchment, your snack is so settled in your life that changing it feels hard.

The More Blocks, the Stronger It Is

Every time something happens that supports your favorite snack, like getting extra cheese on top, it becomes even harder to change. Just like how each block adds more strength to the tower, every good experience with your snack makes it more entrenched in your life.

So, resolution is when things become really clear and strong, like a super-tall tower or a snack that’s just perfect. Resolution, or entrenchment, is when something becomes so clear and so important that it can't be changed easily anymore.
