What is reliability?

Reliability is when something you use always works the way it should.

Imagine you have a toy car that you push down a ramp every day after school. If the toy car always rolls smoothly to the bottom, no matter how many times you play with it, then it’s reliable. But if sometimes it gets stuck or falls apart, then it’s not as reliable, just like when your favorite shirt starts tearing at the seams.

What Makes Something Reliable?

Think of reliability like a friend who always shows up on time for playdates. You know you can count on them. A reliable toy, tool, or even a friend is someone or something you can trust to do what it’s supposed to do, every time.

If your toy car sometimes rolls and sometimes doesn’t, that's like having a friend who only shows up sometimes. That makes things less fun and harder to plan.

So reliability means being dependable, working the same way each time, just like your favorite shirt or a friend you can always count on.
