What is relativity?

Relativity is like having a special kind of superpower that lets you see how things move and change from different points of view.

Imagine you're sitting on a really fast train, reading a book. To you, the book is still, and everything else seems to be moving backward. But someone standing outside the train sees you zooming past them like a rocket! Both are right, it just depends on where you’re looking from. That’s what relativity is all about: how things look different depending on your speed or your position.

How Time and Space Play Along

In relativity, time isn’t always the same for everyone. If you're traveling super fast, like a superhero jet, time might seem to go slower for you compared to someone who’s just sitting still. It's like when you’re playing a game and your friend is watching from afar; everything seems to happen more slowly.

Space also stretches or shrinks depending on how fast you move, kind of like how a rubber band gets longer when you pull it, but with time too!

So relativity isn’t just about speed. It’s about how the world looks and feels differently based on where you are in it.
