What is Rejection of the title of Emperor?

Rejection of the title of Emperor means someone says “No” to being called Emperor, like when you’re asked to be king of a game, and you say you’d rather just play.

Imagine you're playing with your friends in the park. One day, your friend Tommy says, “Let’s make you our Emperor!” You smile and say, “Okay, I guess.” But later, you think about it and decide you don’t want to be Emperor, maybe you’d rather be a pirate or just run around freely. So you tell Tommy, “I reject the title of Emperor.” That means you’re no longer the Emperor, and you can choose another role instead.

Sometimes being Emperor is hard work. You have to make big decisions, like what game to play next or where to hide from the bigger kids. If that feels too much, rejecting the title makes things easier, you’re just a regular kid again, and everyone can take turns being Emperor.
