What is recovery?

Recovery is when your body gets back to normal after you've been hurt or tired.

Imagine you're playing on the swings at the park. You go super high, so high that it feels like you’re flying! But then, you come down and land with a thud. Your legs feel wobbly, and your tummy might even feel a little funny. That’s recovery, your body working hard to get back to how it was before the big swing.

Like a Little Robot Inside You

Think of your body like a robot that needs to recharge after doing something exciting. When you run, jump, or swing really high, you use up all your energy. Your body is like a battery, when it’s low, you feel tired or sore. But when you rest, eat a snack, or sleep, it’s like plugging the robot back in. The recovery process is that robot charging up again so you can go play more!

Sometimes, you might need to take it easy for a day or two, just like how your favorite toy needs time to fix itself after a big crash.
