Ranking is when we line up things or people in order from best to worst, or sometimes just from biggest to smallest.
Imagine you and your friends are playing a race at the park. When the race is over, everyone stands together. The person who ran the fastest gets to stand first, and the person who ran the slowest gets to stand last. That’s ranking, it shows where each of you finished in the race.
Like Putting Books on a Shelf
Think about how your parents organize books on a shelf. They might put the thickest book at the bottom and the thinnest one at the top. Or maybe they put their favorite book right in the middle so it's easy to find. That’s like ranking too, it helps them know where each book is based on size or how much they love it.
Ranking Can Change
If you practice more, you might run faster next time and move up in rank. Or if someone else practices a lot, they might take your place! Ranking isn’t fixed, it can change whenever things get better or worse. Ranking is when we line up things or people in order from best to worst, or sometimes just from biggest to smallest.
