How It Works
Some animals, like cats, have special muscles that help them make this sound. When they’re happy, relaxed, or even tired, these muscles go on and off really fast, like a little engine running inside their bodies. This causes the sound we hear and the feeling of vibrations.
Why They Purr
Animals might purr when they're content, but they can also purr when they're hurt or scared. It’s like how you might hum your favorite song to yourself when you’re happy, or maybe even when you’re a little nervous!
So next time you hear a soft rrrrrr, imagine it's a friendly animal giving you a warm, wiggly hug from the inside out!
