Purpose is what makes you want to do something, just like how a favorite toy makes you want to play with it.
Imagine you have a bag of jellybeans. You don’t know why you’re holding the bag, that’s like not having purpose yet. But then you see your favorite flavor inside, and suddenly you can’t wait to eat them! That’s when purpose kicks in, it gives you a reason to do something.
Why We Need Purpose
Think of purpose as the reason behind your actions. When you build a tower with blocks, your purpose might be to make the tallest tower ever. If you’re helping someone up, your purpose could be to be kind. Like how you brush your teeth every morning, even if it’s not fun at first, you know it helps keep your smile bright.
Purpose Can Change
Sometimes your purpose is like a snack you eat, it can change from day to day. One day, you might want to run fast because you’re racing a friend. Another day, you might just want to have fun playing in the park. That’s okay! Purpose doesn’t need to be the same every time, it just needs to be there to help you take action.
