Presidency is like being the leader of a big group of friends who all live together in one house called a country.
Imagine you and your friends are playing a game where everyone has to follow certain rules. The person who gets to be the president is like the main friend who helps make the rules, decides what happens next, and makes sure everything runs smoothly.
How the President Works
The president is like the captain of a ship. Just as the captain guides the ship through the ocean, the president guides the country through the day-to-day challenges it faces, like fixing roads, making new laws, or helping people when things get tough.
Sometimes, the president works with other friends (like the members of Congress) to solve big problems. Together, they make sure everyone in the house is happy and everything keeps running well.
Every few years, all the friends vote to choose a new leader, just like you might pick someone else to be captain if you think they’ll do an even better job.
