What is Position of the sun or stars?

The position of the sun or stars is where they appear to be in the sky at a certain time.

Imagine you're outside on a sunny day, playing with your favorite toy. The sun is up high in the sky, shining down on you. As the day goes on, it seems like the sun is slowly moving across the sky, from one side to the other. That’s because Earth is spinning around like a top, and as it spins, different parts of the world face the sun at different times.

Now imagine it's nighttime, and you're looking up at the stars in the sky. They seem to be twinkling above you, but they’re actually very far away, so far that even though Earth is spinning, the stars don’t appear to move much. It’s like looking at a tiny light on a toy airplane from across the room; it doesn't seem to move much as the plane flies around.

Sometimes we say the sun or stars are “in the east” or “in the west,” just like how you might say your favorite toy is in your backpack or on the floor. That’s their position, where they are in the sky!
