What is port?

A port is like a special door that lets things come in and go out from one place to another.

Imagine you have a toy box, and it has different doors on each side. One door is for your blocks, another for your cars, and another for your dolls. Each of these doors is a port, it helps the right toys get into or out of the box without mixing up everything else.

How Ports Work

Think about playing with friends. You have a toy box at home, and your friend has one at school. If you want to share your blocks with them, you need a way for the blocks to travel from your box to theirs. That’s where a port helps, it acts like a bridge between two places.

Sometimes, ports are used in bigger things too, like computers or ships. In computers, ports let different devices talk to each other. It's like having a special line for each toy so they know exactly where to go.
