What is point?

A point is like a tiny dot that shows you exactly where something is.

Imagine you're drawing on paper with your crayons. When you put your pencil down and make the very first mark, that’s a point, it's just one spot, no size at all, but it tells you exactly where you started.

Like a Treasure Map

Think of a point like a treasure map's X. If someone says, "The treasure is right here!" and they put an X on the map, that X is a point, it shows you one special place out of all the blank space around it.

Points Make Lines

If you make another mark next to your first one and connect them with a crayon line, those two points are now the start and end of a line. Just like how your finger moves from one spot to another on a cookie, each spot is a point, and the path between them is the line.

So remember: a point is just one spot, but it’s super important because it helps you find things!
