What is Pluto?

Pluto is a tiny planet that lives far away in space, like a shy friend who doesn’t always show up to play.

Imagine you have a bag of marbles, some are big and heavy, like the marble you use for your biggest game. Pluto is like a small marble, not as big or strong as others. It’s so far from the Sun that it takes 9 years just to go around once!

What Makes Pluto Special

Pluto has moons, just like Earth has the Moon. In fact, it has five of them, little space rocks that orbit around it like friends following you on a walk.

Also, Pluto isn’t alone out there. It lives in a part of space called the Kuiper Belt, which is kind of like a playground for smaller planets and space rocks. Sometimes, Pluto zips through this playground, playing hide-and-seek with other space objects.

Even though it’s not as big or bright as some other planets, Pluto has a story to tell, and scientists are still learning about it every day!
