What is pizza?

Pizza is a flat, round food that you can eat with your hands or cut into pieces and share with friends.

Imagine you have a big, round blanket, like the one your mom uses when she covers your bed. Now imagine someone puts cheese on it, the kind you melt in the oven to make grilled cheese sandwiches. Then they add tomato sauce, which is like ketchup but red and made from tomatoes. Finally, they sprinkle on some pepperoni or mushrooms, things that taste really good when they’re hot.

Now imagine this blanket goes into a big oven, just like your toaster makes toast. After a while, it comes out hot, bubbly, and delicious! That’s pizza!

Why Pizza is Fun to Eat

Pizza is like a plate you can hold in your hands. You don’t need a fork or spoon, just grab a piece with your fingers, and enjoy the warm cheese and tasty toppings.

You can even make your own pizza at home, just like you build a tower with blocks!
