What is Pieces of money?

Pieces of money are small things you can use to buy stuff, just like coins or paper bills.

Imagine you have a piggy bank full of coins, those round, shiny little things you get when you save up your allowance. Each one is a piece of money, and they all help you buy toys, candy, or even ice cream.

Like trading toys

Think about it like playing a game with your friends. If you have 5 toy cars and your friend has 3, you could trade, maybe you give them 2 cars, and they give you some pieces of money as a thank-you gift. Later, you can use those pieces to buy more toys or something else you like.

Paper bills are also pieces of money

Some pieces of money aren’t coins, they’re flat paper notes called bills. A $10 bill is just like 10 coins put together. You can use them to buy bigger things, like a new backpack or a movie ticket.

So whether it's coins or bills, each one is a piece of money you can use every day!
