What is phrase?

A phrase is just a group of words that work together to say something clear and useful.

Imagine you're playing with building blocks, each block is like a word. A phrase is when you put a few blocks together so they form a little part of a bigger picture, like "red car" or "big happy dog." It’s not a full sentence yet, but it’s already telling you something fun and helpful.

How Phrases Work

Think about your favorite snack time. If you say "I want cookies," that's a phrase, it tells what you're asking for, but it doesn't have a beginning or an end like a full sentence does.

Now imagine you're building a tower with blocks: "Red block on top of blue block." That’s also a phrase, even though it's not as simple as "red car."

Phrases are like the pieces of a puzzle, they help make bigger sentences and stories, just like your favorite toys help you create amazing worlds.
