A person is someone who can think, feel, and do things on their own.
Imagine you have a toy friend, it can move around, say hello, and even cry when it’s sad. That toy friend is like a person, but not real yet. A real person is just like that toy friend, but alive! They can walk, talk, laugh, and play with you.
What makes someone a person?
People can be friends
When you play with someone, they’re not just another kid, they're your friend! Friends are people who enjoy being together, sharing toys, and having fun. You might not always agree on what to do next, but that’s okay, that’s part of being a person!
So remember: every time you see someone laughing or playing with you, you’re seeing a person, just like you!
