Performance is how well something does its job, just like how fast you can run or how many toys you can stack before they fall over.
Imagine you have two toy cars, one is super light and zooms across the floor quickly, while the other is heavy and slow. The speed of each car is their performance. A faster car does its job (racing) better than a slower one.
Now think about your favorite game. If it loads quickly and runs smoothly, that’s good performance. But if it takes forever to start and freezes when you jump on the screen, that’s poor performance, like trying to ride a bike with flat tires!
Sometimes, even if something is strong or fast, its performance depends on how well it uses what it has. A big, powerful robot might be slow if it doesn’t know how to move carefully.
So, performance is about how well something works at doing what it's meant to do, whether it’s a toy car, a video game, or even you!
Examples
- A runner who finishes a race quickly has good performance.
- A car that uses less fuel to go far has high efficiency.
- A student who completes their homework on time shows good work output.
