What is Pacific?

Pacific is a huge ocean that covers most of the Earth’s surface, and it helps keep our planet cool and interesting.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy boat in a bathtub. Now picture that bathtub being super, super big, so big it could hold all your toys, your brother's toys, and maybe even your neighbor's toys too! That's kind of what the Pacific Ocean is like. It’s one of the biggest oceans on Earth.

How Big Is It?

The Pacific is so large that if you put two of your favorite books side by side, it would take about 1,000 of them to cover its width! And it goes on for miles and miles, like a never-ending swimming pool where whales swim and submarines explore.

Why It Matters

The Pacific helps regulate the weather, keeps fish happy, and even plays a part in making sure your favorite ice cream stays cold during summer. Without it, our planet would feel much hotter and less fun!
