What is P53?

P53 is like a superhero inside your body that helps keep you healthy.

Imagine your body is made up of tiny little buildings called cells, and each cell has a team of workers who fix things when they break. Now, sometimes these workers get lazy or make mistakes, and the building starts to fall apart, this is like cancer. That’s where P53 comes in.

The Superhero’s Job

P53 is like the boss of all the workers inside a cell. When it sees something wrong, like a broken worker or a messed-up building, it steps in and says, “Fix this!” If the problem isn’t fixed, P53 can even tell the whole building to shut down, which means the cell dies, keeping the rest of the body safe.

What Happens if P53 Fails?

Sometimes, P53 gets tired or breaks. When that happens, the workers don’t get told to fix things, and the buildings keep falling apart, more cancer can happen. That’s why scientists study P53 so much; it's one of the most important parts of keeping your body strong and healthy.
