What is overlapping?

Overlapping is when two things cover part of each other, like when you stack two plates on top of one another, they don’t fully hide each other, just share some space.

Like Building with Blocks

Imagine you're playing with blocks. You put a red block on the table, and then you place a blue block so that half of it is on top of the red block. Now both blocks are still visible, you can see part of the red one and part of the blue one.

This is just like how overlapping works in pictures or maps. If two shapes overlap, they share some space but don’t completely hide each other, it’s like having a shared playground where both friends can play at the same time!

Overlapping in Real Life

Think about when you wear a hat and sunglasses. The hat covers your head, and the sunglasses cover your eyes, but they overlap near your face. You still see both of them clearly.

Overlapping is everywhere around us, it’s just two things sharing space without fully hiding each other!
