"Other" is what happens when we talk about things that are not the same as what we already know or see.
Imagine you have a red ball. That’s your favorite ball. Now, if someone comes and shows you a blue ball, that blue ball is the other one, it's different from your favorite.
Think of it like this: when you're playing with blocks, and you have a red block, but there are also blue blocks, those blue ones are the other blocks. They’re still blocks, just not the same color as yours.
You can also think of "other" as things that live in places you don’t usually go. Like, if you're used to seeing dogs on the street, but then you see a cat, that’s an other pet!
So, whenever something is different from what you already know or have, it's called the other thing. It doesn't mean it's less cool, it just means it's new and interesting!
