"What is oppose?" means when something works against another thing, trying to stop it or make it harder.
Imagine you and your friend are having a race on the playground. You want to win, so you run as fast as you can. But your friend wants to win too, they might push you or try to trip you. That’s opposing, one person is working against the other.
Like playing tug-of-war
Think of tug-of-war: two teams pull on a rope from opposite sides. One team tries to pull the other side over the line, and the other team tries to stop that from happening. They’re opposing each other, one group is working against the other.
You can also think of oppose like when you're trying to build a sandcastle at the beach, but waves keep coming in and washing it away. The waves are opposing your hard work!
So, whenever something is trying to stop another thing from happening, that’s what oppose means!
