What is Normandy?

Normandy is a place in France that’s famous for being where a big group of people landed on a beach a long time ago, it's like when you jump into a pool with your friends and splash around.

Like a Big Neighborhood

Imagine your neighborhood has lots of houses, parks, and maybe even a lake. Normandy is kind of like that, but much bigger! It’s got beaches, forests, and castles in it. People have lived there for hundreds of years, farming the land and building homes.

A Famous Beach

One special beach in Normandy is called D-Day Beach. That's where a lot of soldiers landed on June 6th, 1944, think of it like when you're playing hide-and-seek, and all your friends suddenly pop out from behind trees at the same time! It was a very important moment in history.

Normandy is still a fun place to visit today, you can walk on those same beaches or explore old castles. It’s like a big neighborhood with its own special story.
