What is non-mention?

Non-mention is when something happens or exists, but no one talks about it, like it’s invisible or silent.

Imagine you and your friend are playing with blocks in the living room. You both build a tall tower together, and it falls down with a crash. But neither of you says anything about the crash. It's like the tower just disappeared, no one mentions it at all. That’s non-mention.

Like a Secret

Sometimes, people do things or feel things but don’t say them out loud. Maybe your friend is sad because their favorite toy got broken, but they don’t tell you. They just keep playing with blocks like nothing happened. That’s non-mention too, the sadness is there, but no one talks about it.

It's Everywhere

Non-mention can be fun or confusing. If everyone in a class forgets to bring their lunch, and nobody says anything, that’s non-mention. Or if your mom gives you a hug, but doesn’t say “I love you,” that’s also non-mention, the love is there, just not said.

Sometimes, things are easier when we don’t mention them, like when a crash happens and you both just keep building. Non-mention is when something happens or exists, but no one talks about it, like it’s invisible or silent.
