What is Nile?

The Nile is the longest river on Earth, like a giant water snake that flows from one end of Africa to the other.

Imagine you have a really long hose, and it's filled with water. That’s kind of what the Nile looks like, just much bigger! It starts in a place called the White Nile, which is like the beginning of the hose, and then it flows all the way down to the Mediterranean Sea, which is like where you turn on the water at the end.

The Nile helps people who live near it by giving them water to drink and grow food. It's like a giant river that acts as a friend to many cities, especially one called Cairo, which is in Egypt, a country known for pyramids and pharaohs!

Sometimes, the Nile floods, which means its water goes over the banks and covers the land around it. This helps make the soil very rich for growing crops, just like when you water your plants too much and they grow really big!
