Nationalism is when people feel very proud of where they're from and want to work together as a group.
Imagine you and your friends all go to the same school. You have inside jokes, shared traditions, and maybe even a favorite lunchroom table. That’s like being part of a team, and that team is your country. Nationalism is when people really love their team and want it to be strong.
Like a Big Family
Think about your family. When you're with them, you feel happy and safe. Nationalism is kind of like having a huge family, one that includes everyone in your country. People who share the same language, history, or culture often feel especially close to this big family.
Working Together
Sometimes, people from different families (or countries) can get along really well. But when they're part of the same team, they might want to help each other out more, like how you and your friends might all try to win a game together.
Nationalism helps people feel connected, just like being on the same team or in the same family!
