What is Multitasking?

Multitasking is when you do more than one thing at the same time.

Imagine you're playing with your toys, maybe you're building a tower with blocks while also pretending to talk on the phone with your favorite doll. That’s multitasking! You’re using your brain to handle two jobs at once, just like how your hands can hold both a crayon and a toy car.

Like Having Two Hands Working Together

Think of your brain as having two helpers, one for each hand. When you're drawing with a crayon in one hand, that helper is busy. But when you switch to stacking blocks with the other hand, the first helper can take a break and let the second one work.

It's Like Playing Two Games at Once

Sometimes your brain does even more than that, it’s like playing two games on your tablet at once! One game might be drawing pictures while the other is counting steps. Your brain switches quickly between them, so you don’t get confused.

Multitasking helps you stay busy and have fun with lots of different things all at once. It's like having a superpower, but it’s just your brain working hard in its own special way!
