What is morningness?

Morningness is when your body and brain start to wake up and get ready for the day.

Imagine you're a sleepy dragon who lives in a cozy cave. When the sun rises, it's like someone flicked a switch, your dragon brain starts to stretch, yawn, and say, “Hey, time to fly!” That’s morningness: your body telling you it's time to be active.

Like a Clock Inside You

Your body has something like an invisible clock inside. It’s called the body clock, and it helps you know when to sleep and when to wake up. Some people are like early birds, they’re ready to start the day as soon as the sun comes out. Others are more like night owls, who feel awake late at night and sleepy in the morning.

Why It Matters

If your body clock is happy with the time you wake up, you’ll feel bright and cheerful. But if it’s confused, maybe because you stayed up too late or slept in, you might feel grumpy and tired, like a dragon who didn’t get enough naps.
