Monotony is when something happens the same way over and over again, without much change.
Imagine you have a toy that only does one trick, like a bell that just ding every time you press it. If you press it 10 times, or even 100 times, it still just goes ding, ding, ding. That’s monotony, the same sound, the same action, again and again.
What makes something feel monotony?
Monotony isn’t always bad
Sometimes monotony is good! Like when you're learning to ride a bike. You keep pedaling and going around the same path again and again until it becomes easy, that’s how you get better!
So, monotony can be boring or helpful, depending on what you’re doing and how long you do it for.
