What is Misère play?

Misère play is when you try to lose on purpose in a game, like playing reverse version of your favorite game.

Imagine you're playing a game with your friend where you take turns picking up blocks from a pile. Normally, the person who takes the last block wins, that's regular play. But in Misère play, the person who takes the last block loses! It’s like turning the rules upside down, just for fun.

How it works

In normal games, you want to be the one who makes the final move. In Misère play, you want your friend to make that final move, so you have to think differently and plan more carefully.

Think of it like this: if you're playing with blocks, and there are 5 left, you might usually take 2 blocks to leave your friend with a tricky number. But in Misère play, you might do the opposite, try to make sure your friend ends up taking that last block.

It’s like turning a game into a challenge where the rules change just for the fun of it! Misère play is when you try to lose on purpose in a game, like playing reverse version of your favorite game.
