What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is being here now, paying attention to what’s happening around you and inside you.

Imagine you're playing with your favorite toy, maybe a ball or a train set. Sometimes you’re so focused on moving the pieces, you don’t notice how your hands feel or how the air smells. Mindfulness is like taking a little break from the game to say, “Hey, I’m here! I can see this, I can feel that.”

Like a Breathe Break

Think of mindfulness as a breathe break in the middle of your day. You take a few deep breaths and notice how the air moves in and out of your body, like watching clouds pass by in the sky.

Watching Your Thoughts

Sometimes, your brain is like a busy beaver, chattering nonstop with ideas and worries. Mindfulness helps you watch your thoughts instead of being swept away by them. It's like having a special seat where you can see all the thoughts passing by, some are loud, some are quiet, but none need to stop you from enjoying the moment.

Mindfulness is simple, fun, and always there for you, just like your favorite toy or your best friend.
