What is Midwest?

The Midwest is like a big, friendly neighborhood in the middle of the United States.

Imagine you have a toy box full of different kinds of toys, some are cars, some are blocks, and some are puzzles. The Midwest is kind of like that toy box, but it's a whole part of the country with lots of cities, farms, and friendly people. It’s between the East and West parts of the U. S., so it feels like a bridge connecting them.

Like a Big Playground

In the Midwest, there are big open fields where farmers grow corn and wheat, it's like a giant green playground for plants! Cities like Chicago and Minneapolis are also in the Midwest, and they’re busy places with lots of people, buildings, and fun things to do.

A Place That Changes

Sometimes, the Midwest can be very cold in the winter, like when you put your hands near a freezer, that’s how chilly it gets! But in the summer, it’s warm and sunny, perfect for playing outside or having a big picnic.

The Midwest is a special place with lots of different things going on, just like your favorite toy box.
