What is micromotion?

Micromotion is when something very small moves inside something bigger, like a tiny toy car moving inside a big box.

Imagine you have a box filled with marbles, lots of them, all jiggling around. If you shake the box just a little bit, some marbles will move more than others. That’s micromotion: small movements happening inside something bigger because it's being moved or shaken.

Like a Bouncing Ball in a Jar

Think about a jar with a few bouncy balls inside. When you give the jar a light shake, the balls bounce around, but not all at once. Some move more, some less. That’s micromotion in action: each ball is doing its own little dance inside the bigger jar.

Even though the jar isn’t moving much, the tiny balls are having a party inside! It's like how your toys move when you shake your bag of toys, not all at once, but some wiggle more than others. That’s micromotion in real life.
