What is merry-go-round?

A merry-go-round is like a big circle that spins around and makes you feel like you're flying.

Imagine you’re at a park, and there’s a big round platform with horses, animals, or seats attached to it. When the merry-go-round starts moving, it turns in a full circle, just like when you swing around on a playground! Each time it goes around, you get faster and faster, and everything around you seems to move too.

The merry-go-round has a center, kind of like the middle of a pizza. When someone turns a handle or presses a button, it starts spinning. The horses or seats are all attached to the outside, so they go up and down as it spins. You sit on one of them, hold on tight, and ride along with the motion.

It's like being on a big swing, but instead of just going back and forth, you're spinning in circles, sometimes fast, sometimes slow. You can watch your friends go by, or even wave to them as they pass! The best part is when it stops suddenly, it feels like you’re flying through the air!
