What is media?

Media is stuff we use to send messages from one person to another, like a letter or a picture.

How Media Works

Imagine you have a friend across the room, and you want to tell them something. If you talk to them directly, that's like sending a message face-to-face. But if you write it down on paper and give it to them, that’s using paper as your media, it carries your message from you to your friend.

You can also use other kinds of media too! Like when you draw a picture and show it to someone. The picture is the media, and it helps you say something without words.

Different Kinds of Media

Sometimes, media isn’t just paper or pictures. A phone call uses sound as its media, your voice travels through wires or air to reach the other person. A video on a screen uses light and color to tell stories.

Just like you can use different toys to play, we use different kinds of media to share our ideas and feelings with others! Media is stuff we use to send messages from one person to another, like a letter or a picture.
