MEDA is like a weather station that lives on Mars and tells us what the weather is like there.
Imagine you're playing outside, and you want to know if it's going to rain, how cold it is, or if the wind is blowing. You might check the weather forecast. MEDA does something similar but for Mars, it checks the temperature, wind speed, dust, and even the humidity on Mars.
What MEDA Measures
MEDA has two main parts:
- One part measures what's going on in the air, like how cold it is or if there’s wind.
- The other looks at the soil and tells us about dust and how much of it is around.
Think of it like having a friend who not only tells you the temperature but also watches the sky to see if it's going to get dusty or windy, all from right where they are on Mars!
MEDA helps scientists understand how Mars' weather changes over time, just like we do here on Earth.
Examples
- Imagine having a robot on Mars taking notes about the sky and how cold it gets at night.
- MEDA helps us understand what kind of weather astronauts might experience if they go to Mars.
