What is luminous?

Luminous means something is glowing or giving off light, just like a lightbulb in your house.

Imagine you're sitting in a dark room and someone turns on a lamp. Suddenly, the whole room becomes bright because the lamp is luminous. That’s what happens when something is luminous, it shines light all around.

Like a Glow Worm

Think of a glow worm in the forest. Even though it's tiny, you can see it clearly from far away because it gives off its own light, just like a luminous object. The glow worm doesn’t need a power plug, it’s just naturally shiny and bright.

Like Your Phone

When your phone screen is on, it becomes luminous too! It's like having a small light inside your hand that you can turn on or off whenever you want. That's how some luminous things work, they have light inside them, and when you switch it on, poof, they shine!

So remember: if something is luminous, it’s giving out light all by itself, just like your favorite lamp, a glow worm, or even your phone!Luminous means something is glowing or giving off light, just like a lightbulb in your house.
