What is Lower pressure?

Lower pressure means less push from the air or liquid around something.

Imagine you're blowing up a balloon, when it's not full, there’s less push inside than when it’s fully blown up. That’s like lower pressure, it's just not as strong.

What Does Lower Pressure Feel Like?

Think of a straw in a glass of water. When the air around you is pushing less on the top of the water, the water can rise up the straw, kind of like how your drink goes up when you sip it. That’s because there's lower pressure above the water compared to below it.

How It Happens

When you blow on a pinwheel and make it spin, you're creating more push (higher pressure). But if the wind stops, or you let go of your breath, the pinwheel slows down, that’s because there's less push, or lower pressure now.

So remember: lower pressure is just like when something isn’t pushing as hard, it’s simple and everyday!
