What is losing?

Losing means when you don’t win, it’s like when you play a game and someone else gets the prize.

Imagine you and your friend are playing tag at recess. You run as fast as you can, trying to catch your friend before they reach the safety zone. If you catch them first, you get to be it, and that means your friend doesn’t have to run, you do! That’s winning.

But if your friend gets to the safety zone before you catch them? Then they don’t have to run, you are it. That means you didn’t win, and that’s what we call losing.

Losing isn’t bad, it just means you didn’t win this time. It’s like when you try your best but still get second place in a race. You might be sad for a little while, but then you’ll try again next time!

What Losing Feels Like

When you lose, you might feel a little disappointed or even frustrated, just like when you drop your ice cream cone on the ground and it splatters everywhere. But that doesn’t mean you can't win again! Losing means when you don’t win, it’s like when you play a game and someone else gets the prize.
